This site has been set up to try to save Byrne Avenue Baths:
Byrne Avenue Baths,
Rock Ferry,
Birkenhead,
Merseyside.
CH42 4PQ
Four weeks ago Byrne Avenue Baths were closed as the Byrne Avenue Recreational Trust, established circa 12 years earlier, went into liquidation due to financial difficulties. I have set up this site in order to provide information to those people interested in the facility as I have formed a steering group whose mission is to secure the long term future of the facility. Listen to Radio Merseyside, Roger Phillips phone in, today, Monday 16/3/09 between 12pm and 2pm when one of our team will be speaking about our newly created group. We are seeking to attract interest from the local community and anyone who has an affinity for the building to support our cause.

lets hope this wonderful place can be reopened and restored .it was the dedication of all the staff that was absolutley fantastic .This place must not be allowed to die.we must do all we can.
Hi. Further meetings are planned with the aim of setting up a new Trust to get Byrn Ave re-opened and thriving once again. We know we can rely on the local community for full support. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this site so far.
As I’ve been playing 5 a side every week at Byrne Ave for over 10 years I was very dissapointed to hear it had closed. A popular community facility like this should not be allowed to die and I wish you the best of luck with the campaign to reopen Byrne Ave
I would very much like to be involved in the re-establishing of a trust to revive Byrne Avenue. I am very concerned about its future and have been active in quite a few community initiatives in Tranmere and Rock Ferry. I am a Director of Tranmere Alliance, as well as the Viking Youth Centre and am Chairman of the Friends of Tranmere Parks. I am also very active with the Together Management Pathfinder. There have been quite a few pieces of misinformation about the reasons for the closure of Byrne Avenue and the feasibility of any re-opening. As you know, with the support of public opinion and the experience of knowledgeable locals all things are possible.
Thanks Graham. I agree entirely with your final sentiment. I will email you with my details. Feel free to call me.
